When honda came out with the 2010 insight its body is the same as the toyota prius. why?

you would think that honda would want to separate itself from toyotas hybrid car and have a different body style. When honda came out with the 2010 insight its body is the same as the toyota prius. why?Because it's the most aerodynamic body style so far, as for gas mileage goes. Look at the Chevrolet Volt it also resembles the same body style but with a small trunk: http://www.gotbroken.com/wp-content/uplo鈥?/a> It's a plug-in hybrid from Chevrolet that's supposed to get over 230 mpg and will be on sale later this year. When honda came out with the 2010 insight its body is the same as the toyota prius. why?You can't really change the appearance and still have good aerodynamics. As the other posters have indicated all aerodynamic cars look pretty much the same because you can't cheat physics if you're going for the least amount of drag. This goes right back to the 1955 Citroen ID and later DS models. The main difference is that the engineers of the fifties didn't know about the Kamm effect so the back was teardrop shaped rather than cut off. When honda came out with the 2010 insight its body is the same as the toyota prius. why?As it happens, cars of this size with superior aerodynamics tend to look alike: wedge and/or teardrop starting at the front, cutting off sharply in the back. Even non-hybrids tend to have shapes along these lines nowadays.

What should I ask for a 2003 Honda Rebel w/ less than 500 miles?

My wife has a 2003 Honda Rebel that has less than 500 miles. She never felt safe riding it and it sat in the garage. But if you wanna sell it fast you could sell it for $1500 and it would be gone in a few hours

The left side suspension looks lower than the right side on my honda del sol?

I bought a 95 honda del sol and took it for alignment, but didn't pass. The left side front and rear tires are a little lower than the right side. I eye balled the springs and they look about the same. What could cause this? Please help? The left side suspension looks lower than the right side on my honda del sol?Measure! Get a tape and measure from ground to wheelarch on both sides, front and rear. This is something that an alignment shop should do on an older car anyway as part of their initial inspection.

If it is indeed sitting lower on one side, it's likely on a Honda that a spring is broken, they're known for it. They break near the top and can be hard to spot. Otherwise they're just worn and sagged more on one side, which would have to mean a previous owner was heavy and drove alone!

How do you FAIL an alignment??????? The car is road tested, lifted up, checked for play (Did you have any loose components?) ... the heads are put on the wheels, the car is lowered onto the tables, the angles are measured. Toe is set if it's off (You would know if your steering wheel was off centre) and camber and caster are measured (These generally cause pulling). Almost everything on a Honda is adjustable... though sometimes you need to replace parts to do it. Is that possible? why or why not? thanx. Can i put a 2004 Honda Pilot Navigation System on a 2008 Honda Pilot? It's possible, but it's going to be VERY hard, because you are going to have to pull all of the harnesses out of the older vehicle and run them in the new one, because you are going to need tach and transmission sensors, as well as the OEM GPS antenna.

-In short, I wouldn't try it, because you'll have to ruin the 2004 honda to get it done, and even if you get it completed, the maps are 6 years old, and updating to new maps will easily cost you another $150.

Umm...you have a Honda Civic Sedan. 70 horsepower. 2.0 liter motor (same size as a 2-liter Pepsi bottle)...what did you expect, warp speed?!? LOL. Remember the golden rule: There is no replacement for displacement (try 7.4 liters on for size)...Is it normal for my honda civic to be so slow?if you can do it yourself--go buy the best spark plugs and wires you can and replace what you have---go and buy a fuel filter after running a good gas treatment in it--not the $1.99 stuff. when you replace these things--disconnect the battery first---the red. see if that helps. also change out your air filter. Is it normal for my honda civic to be so slow?
Dude, it's a Civic... If your even lucky enought to have V-TEC on that thing yo, you should be pushin' 10,000hp, stock!

What car should I get honda civic coupe or Pontiac G6 Sedan?

Ok I'm in highschool and my 18th birthday is coming up. I get to choose between the Honda civic 2 door or 4 door. And the Pontiac G6 4 door. Which one is more stylish and has the best standard features? Thank you for your help and opinionsWhat car should I get honda civic coupe or Pontiac G6 Sedan?Hmm let's see.

In my opinion, (4 door) sedans are much better than (2 door) coupes since insurance costs are cheaper and its not a hassle when you have passengers (they come in and out).

A Honda Civic. The starting cost of one (the DX, but not recommended since it doesnt come with alot of basic features, ie air conditioning) is around $16k. A preferred version would be the LX (#18k) has all the technological marvels, efficiency (26/34), and decent power (140 HP) of a Honda. If you're a more sporty person, try the Civic SI ($22k) with its 197 horsepower engine (just make sure you know manual). And it's a Honda.....Nuff said. Just ask JD Power %26amp; Associates and various car critics.

A Pontiac G6. Starting price $22k. 2.0 L 164 HP. 22/30 MPG. Although the MSRP says starting price $22k, the market value of the G6 is actually $18k. So its pretty overpriced. Even Forbes says so. Although GM is bankrupt, and thus Pontiac a dead brand, some dealers will probably cut a pretty handsome discount for it to get off the showroom floor.

You decide. I bet your decision isn't gonna be a hard one. What car should I get honda civic coupe or Pontiac G6 Sedan?Pontiac G6 is a 'rental' car and isn't rated very high by consumer reports or customers. It's your average, nothing special, typical GM car.

Honda Civic is going to be more reliable in the long run but I personally don't like them because they ride too low to the ground. You'll be lower than most cars.

That said, here are cars I recommend:

Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Subaru Impreza - these are very fun cars to drive, with good gas mileage, and proven reliability. They are all stylish and with proper maintenance will last you a long time. What car should I get honda civic coupe or Pontiac G6 Sedan? The pontiac may be better looking but Honda's are nice also and they hold their value way more then the pontiac. 2 and 3 wheelers are "motorcycles" and do not require seatbelts, windshields or 5mph crash bumpers, or emissions testing., where a 4 wheeler DOES

Should I get the roof rack and or a short roof box 2008 Honda Element EX?

I am looking into a 2008 Honda Element EX, and I am wonder what people's feelings are on whether or not to get a roof rack? I would get the roof rack simply for looks.

What about storage for trips, would you get a short roof box? Any advice on either of these questions would be great.

Thanks.Should I get the roof rack and or a short roof box 2008 Honda Element EX?I just got a 2008 Element (EX) and was considering the roof rack as part of the purchase but backed out of it.

In the first place, with the configurable seats and height of the interior, it's got lots of cargo space inside. (I was about to write "out of the elements, but in this case I guess it's really "in the Element.)

Secondly, if you look at the roof edges, there are punch outs for where the roof rack will go, so if you discover later that you really need it, adding it on is not really a hassle.

And if you're just doing it for looks, bah! "Looks" really don't factor into this car that looks a lot like my toaster.

Also, Honda's price for a roof rack seems a bit high, so check around with after market prices and save yourself some money.Should I get the roof rack and or a short roof box 2008 Honda Element EX?get a roof rack or a roof box ONLY if you have intentions of actually using them. going with a roof rack just for "looks" will create more drag when you're driving. more drag means more power, more power means more gas, and more gas means an empty wallet.

What's your guess on the value of a Honda Dream 250cc CA72?

I'm looking to buy a vintage 1962 Honda Dream 250cc CA72 in excellent condition (at least that's what the owner says...I admit that the pics look good).

I don't know much about bikes and this will be my first one. Does anyone know of a price range that I should expect to pay? What about any problems that I should ask about when I see it?

Thanks! What's your guess on the value of a Honda Dream 250cc CA72?i Guess you are not in the uk ,as the CB250T DREAM came out august 1977 was around for a very short time before being re vamped into the super dream (more of a down grade than an upgrade),

i have an s reg dream, the main problem is the rear swing arm rusts away underneath at the back of the engine, cam chain tension-er tends to stick, exhaust balance box tends to rot ,

around here you would be lucky to get 拢300 for one in good nickWhat's your guess on the value of a Honda Dream 250cc CA72?The CA72 is a bike with collector value. You should expect to pay quite a bit more than you would for a less collectible bike in similar condition. You might expect to pay somewhere from $1200 to upwards of $3000, depending on condition, the upper mark being reserved for a very original example in excellent condition or a good restoration. If your seller isn't cued in, he may be asking less, giving you a chance to steal it.

I am of two minds about a bike that old for a first bike. On the one hand, it is nice to see these cool old bikes being ridden. On the other, they can be a bit fiddly to keep on the road compared to something newer. The fact that you ask about what to look for suggests that you could be getting in a bit over your head. I don't mean to scare you off; these bikes are well made and were reliable enough for their day, but don't expect a bike you can just turn the key and ride every day without some attention. What's your guess on the value of a Honda Dream 250cc CA72?I've seen one for sale, he was asking for $3000. I thought that was steep.

I would like to use a 2006 honda odyssey to haul a 3000 lbs. car for a 1000 mile journey. Honda says the odyssey had 3500 lbs. tow capacity. Where can I find good Headlight covers for a 2001 Honda Civic ex?

I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Civic ex. The only thing I dont like about the car Is that the plastic cover over the headlights is cracked, faded and yellow. Amazon has a couple of vendors selling new pairs for $70 to $80 for 2001-3 honda civic [coupes, but looks ok for EX, too].

Whether you spend the extra $210 or not, no one is suggesting that their product will not cloud up in a year or two, also.

This might help you decide.... You know the economy is really bad right now and people are losing their jobs because companies are packing up moving out of the USA so I would suggest to buy a American made vehicle. I prefer Chevy over Ford any day.

I hope I was able to help you decided, if not good luck!
I know two people who have honda accords with over 245,000 miles. Both have had to do repairs and mantenance over the years. One just had a 400$ tune up and and valve cover gasket, will need some more work MAYBE even a transmission job, still waiting for word on that. .

Not a bad deal really, 400$ or so , and he's back on the road with the same engine. Bottom line is ANY car will need proper TLC to get over the 200k mark. Do scheduled maintence and drive it maturely, and a Chevy Malibu or Impala will last as long as the Accord.

Today I hope you get the Chevy, and do your part to turn our economy around.

    check hyundai out.

good cars, i have one for 6 yrs, no problems. great warranty.

but outta the ones you said, either honda or chevy.
    honda or toyota

hondas are more fun, toyota is boring but might last a little longer than a honda, that being said proper care and maintnence is what will keep your car running well for a long time.

How to make my 98 Honda Prelude faster and handle better?

I am a low rank Marine that just bought a 98 honda prelude and i was wondering how to make it faster, more hp and all that. also how to make it handle better. if it is possible to list them from the cheapest but at the same time the most important first haha like i said LOW ranking Marine.

Thank you.How to make my 98 Honda Prelude faster and handle better?Well, if you have the VTEC Prelude, then you are set. If not, then I would find an H22A1, (the Prelude VTEC engine for your corresponding year), and swap it in. Because of the engine already being 11:0 to 1 compression ratio, then you could always make it all engine, not a turbo setup, as lower compression is better for turbo setups and that engine is high compression. So, get the basics like Intake, Header, Exhaust. Then you can move to maybe some stage one cams where you can keep the stock valve train but still put in higher lift cams and get a little more HP and a more aggressive VTEC crossover. Now it was also mentioned above to get a VTEC controller. But this is not recommended as it has been proven to be very dangerous to your car. Some people have had really bad problems with these devices and are not recommend them. Just chip the computer or get Hondata and really control your computer the right way. From there, you mentioned suspension. It was mentioned above to just get lower springs. That works yes, but if you do that I highly recommend getting new struts, it has been proven time and time again that stock struts with lowering springs does not end well. Now sure some people do have it work fine, but why take the risk? You can just get full coilovers, like I have, so you can just the height when you may need to take it up or slam it down. Next you can get the front and rear strut tower bars to help alter the unibody's tendency to flex. Also maybe some control arms, and lower tie bar. Also you can go ahead and get an entire suspension bushing kit. It has every bushing for your car's suspension, most of the time in polyurethane, and will help as the bushing on your car are over 10 years old, and as move to each suspension part you can replace the bushings as you go, or go ahead and do them all at once. Finally, you can get some nice sticky tires to help grip to the road better. How to make my 98 Honda Prelude faster and handle better? You want some quick cheap upgrades? Start with the air intake system, then exhaust. And if it's the VTech model, throw in a VTech controller. They're cheap upgrades. As for making it handle better. For a start just put some lowered springs in.How to make my 98 Honda Prelude faster and handle better?Intake, exhaust, ignition parts upgraded, strut bars, performance bushings, rims tires. These are the most basic.

Problem is - those years have many - many miles. Try to find one that was serviced at a Honda dealer and an owner that has receipts to show work done if it has a lot of miles, (over 100,000).

  • How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?

i want to know how to make my honda civic 99 ex faster with out swaping engine. i drive an automatic. right now i have an exhaust and im getting an ecu chip pretty soon. all i need now is an intake.

so what other stuff do i need to gain more horse power? How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?First off your car is an automatic, which means the gains seen on the simple bolt-on parts will never be realized due to the fact that they make their power in the upper rpm band of your motor and being as your computer shifts for you, it will never get there. As far as the "chip" don't waste your money, all they do is advance your timing a tiny bit and add more fuel. You can actually do this yourself by simply loosening the 3 bolts on your distributor, turning it towards the front of the vehicle about 1/2 an inch and tighten the bolts, then remove the vacuum line from the top of your fuel pressure regulator. .How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?the bolt ons (exhaust, intake, ecu chip) wont do anything to make your car faster. swapping the engine is a for sure way of getting more power. a 99 civic Si motor would be so bad ***. it has a short gear ratio manual transmission. you can also put a turbo on the motor. a very cheap way of getting more power is nitrous. but that can damage your engine after time. i blew a hole in a valve and fried my spark plus messing around with nitrous. if it were me, id swap the engine out, convert the transmission to manual, and get a turbo. How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?it's a lost cause. How much does a transmission flush cost for a 99 Honda Accord LX?

I live in Denver, CO. I was looking for an estimate in my area of how much this will cost me, and also I've been hearing around it's not recommended to be done on Honda's yet my mechanic told me to get it done, when some work was done to the tranny, he would've done it but he doesn't have the equipment. Any advice on that? Also where could i go to get it done, any highly recommended places? Do I need to also change transmission filter in 06 honda civic?

I have a 2006 honda civic with 52,000 miles on it. I am going to change the transmission fluid. But I heard I don't have to change the filter because they last a lot longer and rarely need changing. Is this true? Also, What are the 10 most IMPORTANT types of service you need to do on a car?Do I need to also change transmission filter in 06 honda civic? You don't have to change the filter because it doesn't have one that you can change. (It has a filter, but its internal to the transmission and is not a 'servicable item')

Honda recommends 100,000 miles as the interval to change the fluid. Use only the Honda Hondamatic fluid if you do change it. Most dealers suggest you do a 'drain and refill' which will only change about 1/3 of the fluid be done at 60,000 miles. In no case should you do a "transmission flush" as that incudes chemicals into the transmission which could damage the internal seals.

On my own cars, I do a drain and refill every 30k but I don't drive more than 10k per year so its every 3 years for me.

hope that helpsDo I need to also change transmission filter in 06 honda civic? The guys above me is correct. Dont worry about the filter in the tranny. Seriously. DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT FILTER. It doesnt filter the way it sounds or the way you think it does. HONESTLY dont think about it. That filter will be fine for a long time.

TOP 10 Services on a car:

    1) Oil changes every 4 to 5k miles (synthetic oil is better and offers better protection but cost more)

    2) Spark plugs

    3) Air Filter (get a K%26amp;N drop in. They are about $80 but once you have 1 you never need another 1)

    4) Antifreeze (dont really worry about this too much. Rarely does it need to be changed)

    5) Water Pump and Timing Belt (if one of these 2 goes always replace both of them)

    6) TIRE PRESSURE ( check your tire pressure once a week )

    7) Alignments (every 9k miles or more is not bad)

    8) Windshield Wiper fluid. (i use plain water. its better on the paint)

    9) Make sure your spare tire is full of air 55 to 60lbs of pressure once a month. (it leaks trust me)

    10) Dont forget your Fuzzy Dice ;)

LIsten, when it comes to the tranny, IF IT AINT BROKE THEN LEAVE IT ALONE! Good Luck.

When will the Honda FCX Clarity be available in Florida?

I have recently heard about the Honda FCX Clarity Fuel Cell Vehicle, and would like to know if anyone knows when they will be available in Florida. I am moving to Florida in about three years, and would really like to have one. I currently own a Honda Civic Hybrid, as I am a big supporter in environmental conservation. I feel that this car is the best possible solution in an attempt as to reduce the effect of global warming. Any information would be greatly appreciated. When will the Honda FCX Clarity be available in Florida? As far as I know they are only leasing the proto types and not really selling them. So if you are interested you have to contact honda usa directly and apply with your pre-approval and wait for a while. When will the Honda FCX Clarity be available in Florida? If, and when, hydrogen supply stations are available. The FCX runs on hydrogen fuel cells, so they're only available right now in California where these stations are located. They're not being "sold" right now persay, just being leased out as a test pilot program to get data on Honda's new hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Pretty much, we're guinea pigs for Honda, but we don't have to pay too much to be one... :)When will the Honda FCX Clarity be available in Florida? Its not and it wont be. There is nowhere to fill up your fuel cell in Florida.

They are leasing them for $600/month which is probably a huge loss for Honda. That would buy a lot of gas in something like a Civic which is a similar sized car.

What are the best floor mats for a 2008 Honda Odyssey?

What would be the best option for all weather floor mats for a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX. We may also be taking out the center seat in the second row quite a bit as we have three boys to get in and out of the van. What are the best floor mats for a 2008 Honda Odyssey?I only buy WeatherTech Products, just because I think they are wonderful products. http://weathertech.com shows you all the products that will perfectly fit you Oddy. I opted to not go with a traditional all-weather mat, but a floor liner. Nothing gets on the carpets, so my '07 Oddy looks brand new! The only issue wit the floor liner is that in the second row, it doesn't give you the ability to access the floor storage like OEM and it will expose the metal floor bars if the middle seat is out. If you don't mind those things, I highly suggest these floor liners! What are the best floor mats for a 2008 Honda Odyssey?Honda has 'all season floor mats' and a rear cargo mat that are your best bet. the set of floor mats runs about $200. the reason I recommend them is that they fit properly and they include hold downs so that the mats don't slide up under the accelerator pedal.

if you want to do it less expensively, here's something I did with an RV I owned when my kids were small--go to a carpet store and buy the clear plastic runners with the 'spikes' on the bottom. you can cut them very easily to fit and they will stay in place. Its a much more affordable solution and they are safe; mine lasted 15 years in an RV without curling, cracking or moving.

I wouldn't recommend anything other than the factory mats for the front, whether all-weather or not. but then again, the kids most likely won't be in the front.

Is a 1972 Honda cb750 too big for a first motorcycle?

I've found a great deal on a Honda CB750, but I'm worried it's too top-heavy and large for a first bike. I'm 6 feet tall and about 165 pounds. I know it's not optimal, but could I make it work? Or am I getting in way over my head?Is a 1972 Honda cb750 too big for a first motorcycle?Compared to modern bikes the '72 is underpowered. The thing that may give you the most trouble riding it is that it is quite heavy compared to new bikes. Also, the suspension and frame technology back then just wasn't all that. If you do decide to buy this classic, make sure you take the time %26amp; money to put it right. Change the fork oil %26amp; seals, rebuild or replace the shocks, get fresh tires (or tyres) if the ones on it are even remotely old. Check to be sure the chain %26amp; sprockets are ok, adjusted properly and lubed. Change brake pads %26amp; fluid %26amp; check the hoses, replacing with steel braided if there's $. Make sure you learn how to totally adjust the valves %26amp; keep the engine tuned. These older bikes require much more regular maintenance than the newer ones, but maintenance prevents repairs!

If it works for you, then you've got a classic you'll probably want to hold on to even after getting a modern bike.

I've assumed that you've already taken a riding course taught by professionals. Good luck!Is a 1972 Honda cb750 too big for a first motorcycle?
You failed to mention your age, but if your over 16 you should be able to handle the bike. But you will need to take the motorcycle riders training course. The problem with the older bikes, the maintenance and the unreliable brakes. Although your wanting to get an affordable bike, I would be careful, unless you have someone that works on older bikes and can help you, otherwise I would suggest a newer used bike. Either way, good luck and be safe.Is a 1972 Honda cb750 too big for a first motorcycle?Take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course. This will teach you how to handle the throttle, which will be important on your bigger heavier bike. If your heavy motorcycle falls over, it's going to be hard picking it up again.

One more thing: the heavier the bike is, the more important it is to keep it upright when you're sitting at a stop light. Keeping it upright means the weight is on the tires and not on your legs.
    Take a safety course.

@ 6'' it's a matter of feel but i'd bet you can do it.

check the tires for dry rot and pressure, low pressure is hard to push which makes it feel heavier.

They were the BEST bike of their day.

If it's dented go ahead, ride it for a year and sell it to a big beginner,

PRISTINE leave it some experienced collector, never mind, it's just me.Is a 1972 Honda cb750 too big for a first motorcycle? It sounds perfect to me. If you got it cheap and wind up beating it up, you haven't lost much. It will also satisfy the more experienced rider as will have plenty of power. That way, you won't be looking for something bigger so soon.Is a 1972 Honda cb750 too big for a first motorcycle?
If you've just passed your test then it could be a bit much but then you don't have to full throttle it everywhere. They were nice reliable bikes. The kicker is going to be the insurance fee.
I started on a 1970 CB750 and had never ridden before. You are about the same size as I was at the time I started riding. Just take it easy and you'll do fine.Is a 1972 Honda cb750 too big for a first motorcycle?
Great starter bike. Go for it. You're tall enough.

What is the best way to upgrade a 96' Honda Civic w/out spending a lot of money?

I have a 96 Honda Civic and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to make it faster w/ out spending gobs of money and without using a turbo. What is the best way to upgrade a 96' Honda Civic w/out spending a lot of money?By selling it.

You said you don't want to spend gobs of money.

    How much is gobs?

Would you consider $1500 to be gobs?

Because 1500$ will get you intake, header, and exhaust.

Which will give you 3-4 horsepower, over your normal driving power band.

    http://www.importtuner.com/powerpages/01鈥?/a>

800$ for the exhaust, gets you 14 peak horsepower, which is great if you intend to drive around 6500 rpm, all the time.

For your normal acceleration, etc, 1-2 horsepower.

So, 1500$ will get you around 3-4 horsepower. The car won't be faster. You can't even notice that amount of gain. You could swap out the pistons, and some other stuff, but then you'll gain around 20-30 horsepower, and cost another 2000 or so.

And it gets worse from there. What is the best way to upgrade a 96' Honda Civic w/out spending a lot of money?
Dude forget about speed. Rules for racing these days are so strict that if you get caught the cops can smash your ride to pieces and you can't do anything about it. Just focus on making your car look nice. I suggest you get some rims, suspension to lower your car, make sure it has a nice paint job, add like a jdm lip or something like a carbon fiber hood and wallah you got yourself a clean *** civic. What is the best way to upgrade a 96' Honda Civic w/out spending a lot of money?you cant make a Jap car faster only stupider, if you want a faster car go with American muscle like a Z28 Chevy Camaro you can get them for about 3 grand, use craigslist you can find plenty of them on there some for even less than 3 grand too
Have to spend money to make things go fast. For instance, first thing would be like getting a K%26amp;N Filter. Boosts HP and gas milage...but, your spending probably around $50-$60 for a filter! Sell the car and buy a American car! What is the best way to upgrade a 96' Honda Civic w/out spending a lot of money?i'd start with a K%26amp;N cold air intake. Also i'd get a new exhaust. What is the best way to upgrade a 96' Honda Civic w/out spending a lot of money?

Is a honda eg with a h22 engine a good car to mod up and is it fast with this type of engine?

i don't know that much of Honda's. with engine types i don't know anything so i just wanted to know if this car is fast and if its possible to mod it up and make it a lil bit faster. Is a honda eg with a h22 engine a good car to mod up and is it fast with this type of engine? The H22 is an engine from a Honda Prelude SI or an Accord SI, its a 2.2 liter VTEC engine.

The eg civic hatch's normal engine based on it's model (ex or Si in this case) is the d16z6

    H22 produces 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) @ 6,800 rpm %26amp; 161.50 ft路lbf (218.96 N路m) @ 5,500 rpm

    The d16z6 produces 125 hp (93.2 kW, 127 ps) @ 6600 rpm

    %26amp; Torque : 106 ft路lb (14.7 kg/m, 144 Nm) @ 5200 rpm

Both engines have VTEC however, the H-series motor is a double overhead cam and the d-series motor is a single overhead cam.

Either way, your H22 has a 72 horsepower advantage and 54 more ft-lbs of torque.

now, lets look at the weight of the vehicles the engines are made for:

The Honda Prelude (fully dressed) has a curb weight of 2,840 lb (1,288 kg)

The Honda Civic hatchback (fully dressed) has a curb weight of '2,178 lb (988 kg)

Your civic is obviously lighter, with those statistics, you decide. Is a honda eg with a h22 engine a good car to mod up and is it fast with this type of engine?
yes it will be fast, the h22a prelude motor puts out around 200-210bhp, so in a little civic eg that will make a fast car, although if you are going to engine swap go for a b16a2 from a 98 civic vti or a b18c1 from a integra type-r , the b-series are the better more tune able engines.

the h22 will be good though, you can put on a good quality induction kit/cold air feed and cat-back exhaust to improve performance. theres tons you can do and you can push some nice power out of the h22a, it could be a very fast car with some money put into it. remember its a dohc vtec 2.2 in a car that weighs a little over a ton!Is a honda eg with a h22 engine a good car to mod up and is it fast with this type of engine?eg is a civic hatchback 1992-1995, they are really light and the h22 is a honda prelude motor. It has about 200 hp and on a small civic like that will run 14s in a quater mile which is faster than a lot of cars. A lot of ppl are using the acura rsx type-s motors and with just bolt ons they run 13s. A newer mustang GT run low 14s in a quater mile so you can get pretty quick. If you have the money and turbocharge it it can get well past 400hp there are 700+hp hondas rolling around. Is a honda eg with a h22 engine a good car to mod up and is it fast with this type of engine?
honestly, almost any car can be modded to be fast. however, the H22 is a relatively popular car to modify in hondas. To make real power, you'll need to turbo it, but will probably need to rebuild the engine to handle the increase in power. It'll be expensive, but big hp in small car means it'll be fastIs a honda eg with a h22 engine a good car to mod up and is it fast with this type of engine? The H22 engine is a favorite among people that mod Honda's. Theres some around running 400HP with turbos but I'm not sure whats all involved in getting them there.

  • Can I replace the charcoal canister on my honda myself?

I own a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid, the engine stutters a little bit when i am light on the gas pedal. The check engine light is on. I think this is a sign of bad ventilation of the fuel system, I looked up the cost of the charcoal canister and it's $130, man Can i fix this myself on the streets of queens. Can I replace the charcoal canister on my honda myself?First of. Charcoal canister very...very..very seldom go bad, unless it is damaged due a accident or so.In my experience charcoal canisters last a lifetime of a car.

    Check these cheap things first:

@Check your spark plugs and replace them. The life of a spark plug in a newer car is about 60.000 miles, unless your car smokes and the spark plugs foul out. 2-3 $ each.

@Check your vacuum hoses. Usually a leak in a vacuum hose will make the engine run a higher idle. Spray the connections of the vacuum hoses with a cheap carburetor cleaner, if you have a leak the engine RPM will get lower or change the RPM if the carburetor cleaner enters the hose. Be patient and pray a lot at each connection, it may take some time for the carburetor cleaner to reach the engine.

@Check your air-intake hose.It has to be air tight. On newer cars a loose air-intake hose will give the computer a false reading and the engine could run rough or even stall.

@Check your spark plug wires. At night open the hood and the car running, you may see sparks flying along the spark plug wires. With car not running check the spark plug boot, make sure the plug wire is tight on the spark plug and ignition coil( some times it may feel and look tight while it is not all the way seated) .15-40 $ a spark plug set.

@Check your distributor and rotor if you have one.

@check your exhaust. If it smells like rotten eggs after the engine is completely warmed up, your oxygen sensor may be bad and may need to be replaced ( but, replace spark plugs first). It is located somewhere along the exhaust system.

@The throttle position sensor could also be bad.

All those things could make your engine light come on.

What does a Charcoal canister do?

After you turn the engine of it will store gasoline fumes from the gas tank and the engine in a plastic container filled with charcoal. When you start the engine those gasoline fumes will be returned to the engine to be burned.

A car without a charcoal canister would have no differences on performance, than a car with a charcoal canister, unless there is a vacuum leak. It is a federal offense to remove a charcoal canister unless you replace it with a new one.

You may want to get a ' Haynes Manual ', Auto parts stores should carry them. 15 $

autozone.com have repair section on there website for free.

Or use your friend google. Can I replace the charcoal canister on my honda myself? If your sure that is causing the problem then go ahead and replace it. If you have any doubt get it checked by someone (maybe a friend, mechanic is last resort). Can I replace the charcoal canister on my honda myself? You could go to your local library and find a repair manual on your vechile. How much did you pay to fix your Honda rot(behind rear tires)?

Like many, I've got an older(1993) Honda Accord that is starting to get that body rot just behind the rear wheels. It is not major, only about an inch or so on both sides. I want to know how much other people have paid to get this fixed? Let me know! How much did you pay to fix your Honda rot(behind rear tires)? You can probably get it 'patched' for a few hundred, but to correctly cut out and repair would probably be $1200- $1500How much did you pay to fix your Honda rot(behind rear tires)? The cheapest way is to try to do it yourself. You have to scrape away or sand away the rust. You can also use a small hammer to tap the bigger rusted pieces off.

Then you can apply fiber glass. Wait until it dries and sand again and then paint it with anti rust paint.

You can read how to books that will help you .

Was the basic design for the Honda CL 175 series relatively the same?

Im looking to buy a 1969 honda CL 175 but it is missing the side covers and the muffler guard, i was wondering if i could use parts from a later model such as a 1973. Id like the muffler guard, cause i dont want to burn myself on the pipes. Just let me know

ThanksWas the basic design for the Honda CL 175 series relatively the same?On the later model CL 360s, they were pretty much identical to the CB 360 model except for the front brake, exhaust and left hand sidecover, so I imagine the 175 is the same. How do I make my 1995 honda xr100 faster?

I have a 1995 honda xr100. It is completely stock with no aftermarket parts. Its in good shape and runs great, but I'm looking for a little more power. I dont want to buy a new bike and I dont want to bore it out. I also dont want to lower the value. I'd really like to make it more valuable. What are some things I could do to it to make it faster without lowering the value? How do I make my 1995 honda xr100 faster? There is really nothing other then to help hold its value nothing with dirt bikes really brings the value up because there are so many of them out there. If you want power there is not much you can do that will not cost you money. I truthfully would not waste my time I would just ride the bike the way it is, unless you plan on racing then look into pipes, jetting, gearing. But even then most people will not pay a lot because the bike has been raced and has been ridden hard. Save the money and ride the bike the way it is.How do I make my 1995 honda xr100 faster?
A BBR 120cc kit is the BEST and most worthwhile thing you can do to improve power. It gives a 20% boost in HP. This kit is tested and recommended by Dirt Rider magazine. The problem is that it requires a somewhat skilled person to install it. It can be done " in frame" if you pull the cylinder studs. It also requires "fitting of the piston rings to the cylinder". If this is not your cup of tea save your money for a bigger bike. How do I make my 1995 honda xr100 faster?Close enuf is right really, but if u have to try u can take the top off the air cleaner box. that will let in more air. also run high octane gas. if u want more power start with aftermarket exaust, muffler first then pipe. How do I make my 1995 honda xr100 faster?

What do you think is the cheapest you could find a Honda Civic?

I work a minimum wage job and have next to nothing right now but I am only 16. Hopefully in the next few years I can make some more money... anyway, I would love to drive a simple car like the Honda Civic as long as it is safe and in decent condition. So I'll be working toward this. How cheap do you think I could find one in good condition? I like the 92-95 model the best really. What do you think is the cheapest you could find a Honda Civic?I have a 94 Honda Civic hatchback that I really love. Its a five speed. In the Midwest, Civics usually run about $2,000. Usually in the area of 150,000 miles. I would look on craigslist.com or in the classifieds section in your local newspaper. Thats a good place to start. You cant go wrong with a Civic! What do you think is the cheapest you could find a Honda Civic?
Check ebay.com, autotrader and others on the internet if you have it available.

    $1500 to $3500.

Problem is - those years have many - many miles. Try to find one that was serviced at a Honda dealer and an owner that has receipts to show work done if it has a lot of miles, (over 100,000).

If you have a friend familiar with vehicles and maintenance - ask him to accompany you or to look at one if you find something you like.
