How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?

i want to know how to make my honda civic 99 ex faster with out swaping engine. i drive an automatic. right now i have an exhaust and im getting an ecu chip pretty soon. all i need now is an intake.

so what other stuff do i need to gain more horse power? How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?First off your car is an automatic, which means the gains seen on the simple bolt-on parts will never be realized due to the fact that they make their power in the upper rpm band of your motor and being as your computer shifts for you, it will never get there. As far as the "chip" don't waste your money, all they do is advance your timing a tiny bit and add more fuel. You can actually do this yourself by simply loosening the 3 bolts on your distributor, turning it towards the front of the vehicle about 1/2 an inch and tighten the bolts, then remove the vacuum line from the top of your fuel pressure regulator. .How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?the bolt ons (exhaust, intake, ecu chip) wont do anything to make your car faster. swapping the engine is a for sure way of getting more power. a 99 civic Si motor would be so bad ***. it has a short gear ratio manual transmission. you can also put a turbo on the motor. a very cheap way of getting more power is nitrous. but that can damage your engine after time. i blew a hole in a valve and fried my spark plus messing around with nitrous. if it were me, id swap the engine out, convert the transmission to manual, and get a turbo. How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?it's a lost cause. Just save up and buy something that's worth upgrading. Maybe a mustang, camaro, hell even a 240 or something. How do i make my honda civic 99 ex faster?
trade it in.
