How do I properly measure my chain for my 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i?

I am trying to buy a new chain today, but don't know how to measure the chain, nor know what to tell the Honda dealer. Noob lol. Thanks in advance! How do I properly measure my chain for my 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i?If you go to the local honda dealer he can look it up in the book and give you the exact info that you need--how many links on the chain--frnt sprocket teeth and rear sprocket teeth. If you don't want to do that then just count how many links are on the chain.Make sure that you read the numbers on the side plates of the chain--it should say 525 on it--if it does not have any #'s on it then someone may have changed the chain to a 520. Lots of 600 f4i's that I have worked on have that conversion kit on them--you do this to ensure that you don't mix a 520 sprocket to a 525 chain. Most chains that you buy are a link or 2 longer than the original and you have to cut it to change it unless you have a chain breaking tool.If you use a clip on master link make sure you pt it on the right way--the closed side towards the direction of travel. How do I properly measure my chain for my 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i?You count the links. What I mean by counting the links is I mean you actually have to count the pins holding together the links. The "links" are the pins on a bike chain not the pieces that look like they should be the links. Sounds strange, I know but I'm looking to get a new one myself. How ever many pins their are is, how many links the chain is long. Get it?
