My Honda CRV has a burnt valve and my mehcanic said it would cost 1500 dollars to fix. How much would this cost if I did it on my own and is it a difficult job?How much will it cost to fix a burnt valve in a 2000 Honda CRV?Before you go any father just remeber that you owning a honda = you being a ******.How much will it cost to fix a burnt valve in a 2000 Honda CRV?If you dont know a thing about installing new valves then yes, it IS difficult. Mainly because if you remove the cams and do not mark the exact point of the timing chain then you will have catastrophic engine failure and damage. $1500 sounds way too high. Here is a link where i found some OEM Valve stems for your car.

Now for $1500 it sounds like he is just going to give you an entire new head. That means all your springs, retainers, sleeves, valves, guides, and so on are ALL brand new. Now if you went to Pep boys or an autozone, you can probably pic one up for about half that price. Ultimately if you pay the $1500 your eliminating a huge headache. Save yourself some money and buy the Head yourself. Then just have him install it. Hope this helped.
