Why does the 1995 Honda Civic hatchback VX get such good mpg? Also where can i get one?

I'm wondering what parts or components of a honda civic hatchback vx, that make it get good gas mileage. Also does anyone know where I can get one? Why does the 1995 Honda Civic hatchback VX get such good mpg? Also where can i get one?The answers regarding the lean-burn VTEC-E engine are on track. This is not to be confused with the 'high output" V-TEC engines. It's a little slow off the mark, but certainly not embarrassing. The best I saw with mine was 62mpg, but I got 50+ on many highway trips. It 'only' gets around 42 running to work if I don't use the AC much, and drops to about 38 in the winter.



As to where to get one, keep a sharp eye out, since they're rare. I'm thinking about selling mine, because my new wife doesn't like how small and noisy it is. That's another part of the mileage; it's made very light by leaving out some of the sound insulation and such. It also has special lightweight wheels. First of all it's a small engine (1.5 liter inline 4) on a 2000lb car. It has VTEC-E http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTEC#SOHC_V鈥?/a> I've also heard that it is a lean burn engine (high oxygen, low gasoline fuel mixture).

Also where can i get one?it is the same engine as all the other d series engine, its just that the fuel intake system is tiny. the throttle body is about 2" diameter only, the heads intake and exhaust ports are small, and the exhaust manifold is little too. it looks like tubes instead of pipes.Why does the 1995 Honda Civic hatchback VX get such good mpg? The Civic VX has an engine that is a VTEC-E. The engine has 115 horsepower. The E in VTEC-E means Economy. So you get good gas mileage and at the same time a VTEC engine. Why does the 1995 Honda Civic hatchback VX get such good mpg? Also where can i get one?its not just the 1995 one

i cant believe i have a cx with 75hp and only getting 40mpg

while the vx with 92hp gets 50mpg
