I don't know if you know about it or not, but there's cassette tapes out there with a wire coming out of them that you can plug into a CD player, basically making your CD player play through your car speakers.
I think their great, I use one in my car to connect my MP3 to my stereo system, works much better than that radio channel crap. you can get one at radio shack, and then just use a discman, i pod, MP3, or whatever as well as your stock radio.
