Unless you are planning on installing a turbocharger or supercharger to your Civic then I would recommend using the NGK spark plugs that come from the factory. The NGK stock Civic spark plugs are cheap ($2.29 at discounted OEM Honda parts sites) and provide the optimum balance between fuel economy and performance for all but the most heavily-modified Civics.

As for NGK wires, I would definitely recommend them. They tend to last longer than other brands and are a quality piece for the price. What are the brand of Spark Plug Wires recommended for 1999 Honda Civic EX ?It's a 12 year old car.

If you don't want to use honda parts. I'd go with the cheapest available.
