What is this smell inside my Honda Civic?

The other day I got in my car and it smells like something died in it. I looked all over the inside, underside, in the engine and can't find anything. Honda says it might be in the blower motor but they want $90 to check it out. Any suggestions on where this might be coming from? How much would a local mechanic charge to locate the source of this foul smelling entity? It will not go away! What is this smell inside my Honda Civic? The heater core probably went out on you. When those things go bad and start leaking coolant + water and the fluids dry up your car smells like the worst thing on the planet. Worst part of that besides the horrible smell that will come from a bad heater core is that it's all the way behind the engine or sometimes all the way in the back of the dash so the labor is gonna be costly. Are any of the carpet areas near the dash ever soaked in water? What is this smell inside my Honda Civic?Sounds like you might have a water leak. I would check in the trunk where the spare tire sits. If water is in there then you have a leak. Most likely coming from the taillight gaskets or sunroof drains if you have a sunroof.

what year and model is your car? What is this smell inside my Honda Civic?Sometimes there is a fungus build up within your air conditioner that can cause that smell, the dealership can clean that out for you with a ac cleaning.

I don't know why they say you have a bad blower motor, because a blower motor would not make that smell.
