What to do about a 2003 Honda Accord Transmission Failure?

Apparently this year is notorious for transmission defects. Ive done a little research and its clear this is a manufacturers defect. Ive contacted Honda and they said they would pay half of the replacement but my portion is still 1,600 plus tax. Is this a good deal, are they paying enough? is there a class action suit against them? What to do about a 2003 Honda Accord Transmission Failure? There was a class action suit for this problem and Honda paying half of the repair is the result of that suit. For a car that's 7 years old is a good deal. The best thing u can do is call different transmission places were u live and ask about the price for repairs and the warranty after the repair. Here were I live is from 2,800 to 3,800 dollars. Another important thing is that when Honda fixes your trans they send a new trans with updated parts so u don't have this problem again, other shops don't. Hope this helps, Good luck! What to do about a 2003 Honda Accord Transmission Failure?the truth is the torque converter clutch lining is discentergrating and as it does it clogs the main filter and the filters under the shift solonides transmission shops correct the cause of failure by replacing the torque converter wiht a converter that has a clutch lined with kevlar and rebuild the trans its just they charge 2800 and the parts cost around 385 so this is why i started my own shop any transmission rebuild 999.99 and you can find others like me to get a solid and fair rebuild i am van at aamcogod@yahoo.comWhat to do about a 2003 Honda Accord Transmission Failure?Hi Patti,

i am not sure but it could be good, I heard the warranty was extended to 7 years for the transmissions because of that problem, but the 7 years just ended..... and $1600 is alot, I saw this guy change the transmission for less than 1k (around $600)...
